GSW Premed Chapter of the AMSA
Our Purpose

For almost 50 years the American Medical Student Association has been dedicated to serving the needs of physicians-in-training. As a premedical student, you are indeed a physician-in-training, and AMSA is here to help you in any way it can. From taking part in an annual Medical/Health fair for premeds to tips on the MCAT and the application process, from networking with medical students to linking up premedical students on campus and from across the country, AMSA is committed both to helping you get into medical school and to making you a better physician.
The Georgia Southwestern Chapter of AMSA has meetings every three to four weeks throughout the school year. Guest speakers include campus premedical advisors, medical school admissions officers, representatives of MCAT preparation firms, and military scholarship recruiters. We also have speakers representing a miriad of Allied Health and Nursing Professions. We also have developed a database of local volunteering and shadowing opportunities and are working with the Southwest Georgia AHEC to provide exposure and incentives for our primary care goaled students.
